A portfolio project of BonVenture I GmbH & Co. KG.: Solarlite GmbH has developed an innovative, new mini power station that exploits thermal solar energy. This stand-alone system generates steam for heating/cooling and electrical power in the low-temperature area. Easy to use and cost-effective, the system is a contribution to reducing CO2 emissions and our dependence on fossil fuels.

Testbiotech e.V. – Institute for Biotechnology Impact Assessment
A a portfolio project of BonVenture gGmbH: Testbiotech investigates the potential ecological, health-related and socio-economic risks and consequences of advances in biotechnology, in particular connected with genetically modified plants and livestock. The institute also seeks to cast light on the structures, content and goals of biotechnology research and genetic engineering in the field of agriculture, opening them up to public scrutiny. It poses critical questions and operates on a transparent and unbiased basis. Testbiotech is a centre of competence and institute for independent research into the risks and impact of biotechnology and genetic engineering, operating at the interface between public information, research and politics. Testbiotech is supported by well known, independent experts who have been engaged in assessing the impact of genetic engineering for many years.

Wald21 GmbH
A portfolio project of BonVenture II GmbH & Co. KG: Founded in 2007 Wald21 GmbH aims to increase the market share of wood energy in Germany. Wood energy comes from the frequent coppicing of fast-growing tree plantations which produce the biomass needed to meet energy demand. Wald21 encourages the planting of woodfuel plantations organised in regional clusters. This increases efficiency in harvesting and keeps the source of fuel close to the consumers, e.g. the power stations. Woodfuel plantations are a gentle form of land management and the most ecologically valuable way of generating bioenergy, as hardly any herbicides, pesticides and fertilisers are needed, and harvesting takes place only every three to eight years. Wald21 GmbH has developed a comprehensive services concept and supports landowners, farmers and other cooperation partners along the entire value-added chain from planting through to harvesting and marketing.
