Mannheim/Berlin/Hamburg, 1 October 2025 – BONVENTURE has participated in the successful financing round of the Mannheim-based health tech startup LillianCare. The investment was led by amberra, the corporate venturing studio of the Cooperative Financial Network Volksbanken Raiffeisenbanken, with participation from Spanish impact investor Creas and additional partners. The total volume of the round has not been disclosed.

According to a study by the Robert Bosch Stiftung, Germany is expected to face a shortage of 11,000 general practitioners by 2035, with rural regions particularly affected. Founded in 2023, LillianCare addresses this exact challenge: the young company, led by healthcare experts Linus Drop and Daniel Hefel, delivers modern, local primary care in rural areas together with its partner practices. A hybrid practice model combines interdisciplinary on-site teams with digital services such as telemedicine.

LillianCare closes emerging care gaps

Patients gain faster access to medical care close to home, while physicians benefit from more flexible working models that also enable location-independent work. Five hybrid medical practices have already been opened in Rhineland-Palatinate and Lower Saxony. In these regions, which have an above-average number of general practitioners approaching retirement age, LillianCare is already actively helping to close impending care gaps. By 2030, an additional 400 practices based on the LillianCare model are planned. The newly raised capital will primarily be invested in their development. From 2026 onward, LillianCare also plans to scale its model through licensing partnerships – together with physicians who run their own practices while leveraging LillianCare’s proven infrastructure and concept.

“LillianCare demonstrates how entrepreneurial innovation can be combined with social responsibility – and this is exactly what we deploy cooperative capital for,” says Björn Schmuck, Managing Director of amberra. “We build bridges between founders and cooperative banks: with capital, a strong network, and deep regional roots, we provide momentum for LillianCare. This creates added value for local healthcare and for the members of cooperative banks.”

Angela Lawaldt, Managing Partner at BONVENTURE, says

“The LillianCare team has developed an innovative model that combines medical expertise, digital solutions, and modern working conditions – benefiting both patients and physicians. As an impact investor, we support LillianCare not only financially but also with our many years of experience in building impact-driven business models.”

“LillianCare is our first investment in Germany, and we are very excited to begin this new chapter together with such a capable team and an experienced leadership group. We are particularly impressed by the company’s strong impact potential and its ability to drive systemic change by addressing one of Europe’s most pressing challenges: the shortage of doctors in rural areas,” adds Lara Viada, Managing Partner at Creas.

“The fact that we have been able to attract additional investors to join us on this journey is a strong signal for us,” explains Linus Drop, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of LillianCare. “Trust, proximity, reliability – these shared values align perfectly with our mission to future-proof primary care. We are also very pleased to have the continued support of our existing investors.”

It is important to note that medical decision-making remains entirely independent. “Through their commitment, our investors enable the establishment of new practices but have no influence on medical decisions,” adds Linus Drop.
