β€œDemographic developments have brought us to a decisive watershed. In Germany alone, millions of senior citizens are confronted with the challenges of old age – whether due to health problems or age-related limitations. A critical and often underestimated problem is the constant fear of falling or some other emergency. This inhibits their everyday life and can have serious physical and psychological consequences.

Our intelligent fall-detection wristband is the solution.

Every year, over six million older people in Germany suffer such a fall. When my grandmother fell and lay helpless in her flat for days, I experienced the consequences myself. She was lucky, but a third of these people may well die if they are not found within 24 hours of falling. For us, this was proof of how important it is to develop a solution that gives a sense of safety and independence back to the elderly.

Our goal at Gardia is clear: restoring to senior citizens this sense of safety so they can once again lead an independent life – without constant fear of a fall or some other emergency. Our intelligent fall-detection wristband is the solution.

Why Gardia is so important

  • Studies show that 90% of users feel safer and 40% are measurably more active in their everyday lives.
  • The wristband is specially designed to meet the needs of older people – with simple functions and a practical design.
  • As the wristband has a 21-day battery life and is water-resistant, it can be worn every day without any problems.

What sets Gardia apart from other solutions is the combination of modern technology and user-friendliness. Our unobtrusively designed wristbands are equipped with an automatic fall-detection function, have been adapted to the needs of older people, and are waterproof and straightforward. As they are easy to use, older people can easily integrate the technology into their everyday lives. The 21-day battery life ensures the device works reliably for a long time. By wearing our wristbands, most users can measurably and demonstrably move around more safely and be more active in their everyday lives – which is important feedback for us. We firmly believe that the right technology can decisively contribute to improving the quality of life for the elderly and overcoming the growing challenges of demographic change.

A decisive factor in our success is our partnership with BONVENTURE. As an investor and strategic partner, BONVENTURE recognised Gardia’s potential early on and not only supported us financially but also helped us to develop and implement our vision. This collaboration goes far beyond the typical investor relationship, as they’re always asking us in-depth questions that encourage us to think critically about our technology and business model. In everything from ethical implications to the right distribution, we realise time and again in our collaboration that it’s not just about growth, but also and in particular about long-term, positive social impact. I’m impressed that BONVENTURE supports companies like us – companies that want to bring about social change not only through technological innovation but also by promoting a new understanding of care and ageing in our society.”

β€œWe want to give users back that reassuring feeling of safety – the peace of mind that allows them to once again enjoy their everyday lives without worrying.”

Technology for an independent life

Gardia offers an innovative solution that helps senior citizens live safely and independently. The smart yet discreet wristband has an automatic fall-detection function that continuously monitors the user’s movements. As soon as a fall is detected, the device immediately notifies a pre-set emergency contact person or the emergency services direct. This gives users a sense of safety, knowing they can call for help anytime and anywhere – whether it’s after a fall or in any other emergency.
