Planeteers harnesses the potential of the oceans as the largest carbon sink. The method involves neutralizing CO2 using limestone and permanently storing it in the form of hydrogen carbonate in the sea. This process also occurs naturally, but it takes thousands of years. With Planeteers, it only takes a few minutes.

  • CHALLENGE

    Excessive CO2 emissions lead to a continuous rise in temperatures, making the planet increasingly uninhabitable.

  • SOLUTION

    Planeteers captures CO2 and uses the natural weathering process of limestone to store large amounts of CO2 in water.

  • IMPACT

    3,255 t of CO2 certificates have been pre-sold. The goal is to capture and permanently store 1 gigaton of CO2 emissions in the ocean by 2050 (1/50th of the global CO2 reduction p.a.) as well as to combat ocean acidification.
